End-of-the-Year & Christmas Reflection

Dear EC Sisters in Christ,

As the year draws to a close and we enter the season of Advent and Christmas, we pause with grateful hearts to reflect on all that God has done among us. While this year has not been without its challenges, we have clearly witnessed God’s faithful presence—drawing us deeper into His Word, strengthening our relationships, and growing us in prayer for one another and for our church. Below are some of the ways we have seen Him at work in our Women’s Ministry this year.

EC Women’s Conference: Women of Purpose

Praise the Lord for our very first Women’s Ministry Conference! With our guest speaker, Dr. Hei Jin Chung (wife of Rev. Ryoo), we spent a meaningful day reflecting on God’s purpose for our lives as women in Christ. Through teaching, sharing, prayer, and worship, we were encouraged to live fully and joyfully in His will. With nearly 60 women and 7 children in attendance, the day was marked by fun fellowship, uplifting praise, heartfelt prayers, and delicious food lovingly prepared by our volunteers. It was truly a joyful and memorable milestone for our ministry.

Summer Bible Study:
Questions Jesus Asks

This summer, our ladies gathered to study Questions Jesus Asks by Dale and Sandy Larsen. We explored Jesus’ thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions, reflecting on how they call us to self-examination, humility, and greater trust in Him. Instead of rushing to answers, we practiced listening for the Holy Spirit and letting His guidance shape our hearts. It was a time of honest reflection and renewed attentiveness to Christ’s voice.

We are thankful to Sarah Tyler, Kathy Song, and Sylvia Yun for leading this study with care and wisdom, guiding the women through meaningful discussion and prayer.

Launch of Our 4th Discipleship Cohort

In October, we joyfully launched our fourth round of Women’s Ministry discipleship. Women from different seasons of life committed to growing in faith through Scripture, prayer, accountability, and shared experiences. These groups remind us that spiritual maturity develops over time, through consistent faithfulness and walking alongside one another in love.

We are especially grateful to Kathy Song for stepping in as the discipleship coordinator, providing steady leadership, organization, and care for the group.

Large Group: Fellowship and Prayer – October 4

At the start of the fiscal year, we gathered to share fellowship and pray together. This gathering focused on encouraging one another, lifting each other before the Lord, and praying for our church. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect, grow in prayer, and support one another as a community.

Heartfelt thanks to Sarah Cho and Michelle Yoo for leading this gathering with prayerful guidance.

Resuming Community Group: Women of Grace

In October, we resumed our Community Group, Women of Grace. These gatherings have been a vital space to build authentic relationships, share burdens and joys, and encourage one another to live out the gospel daily. Through Scripture, prayer, and fellowship, God continues to knit our hearts together, reminding us that we are not meant to walk this faith journey alone.

We warmly welcomed Christine Kim as our new co-lead this year.

Annual Christmas Large Group – December 7

On December 7, we came together for our annual Christmas Large Group—a time of worship, fellowship, and reaching out in love. As we celebrated the birth of our Savior, we were reminded that Christmas calls us to receive grace and share it with others. Together, we prepared donations for Project Belong, supporting local teens in need, and wrote Christmas cards for missionaries around the world whom our church supports.

During the gathering, we also prayed for Leena Moon Samonim as she prepares for the upcoming birth of her and Pastor David’s fourth child, entrusting their family to God’s protection, peace, and abundant grace.

We are deeply thankful to Josephine Chung and Grace Kim for leading us in beautiful praise and worship, to Hannah Cho for thoughtfully guiding us in reflection on generosity and serving others, and to Stephen Yung for faithfully supporting our ministry through his excellent care of all our AV needs.

Closing Reflection

As we look back on this year and ahead to the next, we give thanks for every woman who has participated, served, prayed, and faithfully shown up. We are also deeply grateful for our church leadership (esp. Pastor David Moon, Pastor John Yun, Elder Hubert Kwon and Elder Peter Rim), whose faithful support, guidance, and prayers have strengthened and sustained our Women’s Ministry throughout the year. Our hope is that the seeds planted this year will continue to grow—drawing us closer to Christ and deepening our love for one another. As we celebrate Christmas, may our hearts be renewed with wonder at the incarnation—God with us.

Last but not least - please stay tuned for opportunities to support Pastor David, Leena Samonim, and their growing family with meals and other practical expressions of care in the coming weeks.

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” (John 1:14)

With gratitude and hope,
