Mark & Grace Kim

Mark and Grace currently serve as co-leaders of an Empty Nesters CG.

1) What is your favorite Bible verse?

[Mark] 1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
[Grace] Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

2) Why did you decide to become a CG Leader?

When we came to KCPC EC two years ago, there were very few CG groups and there were none geared for older members. We saw a need so we talked to Pastor David about starting a new group co-leading with another couple, Robert and HaeEun.

3) How have you been blessed during your time as a CG Leader?

Our CG has been a blessing to us because we sense God's presence as we gather together. We met many new friends who we can rely on for prayers and accountability. We also discuss challenging questions so we are able to learn from each other. We also have been blessed seeing many of our members serve our church faithfully in various capacities.

4) If you could describe your CG in 3 words, what would they be?

Old, older and oldest.
Our CG helps to raise the average age of the EC by at least 20-30 years. Another three words would be - "Fill unmet needs".

5) If you could only eat at one restaurant forever, what restaurant would it be?

We both would have selected a Korean restaurant, but after spending two weeks in Korea last year, we got sick of eating Korean food every day, and we started craving McDonalds. So, as for one restaurant, we would choose Cheesecake Factory since they offer a wide menu selection.

6) What is your favorite dessert?

[Mark] Three layer chocolate raspberry cake with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
[Grace]
Green tea mochi ice cream

7) What was your favorite song in middle school?

[Mark] Every Breath You Take - The Police
[Grace] Knowing Me, Knowing You - ABBA

8) If you could time travel, would you rather go to the past or the future? Why?

[Mark] To the past to see Jesus in person on earth
[Grace] Future to see Jesus in Heaven

9) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

[Mark] South Korea. Although I lived in the US for over 50 years, I still feel connected to the motherland.
[Grace] Europe. Mark's been all over Europe, but I have never been there.

10) How can we as the church be praying for you?

To lead and serve the church faithfully, doing all for God's glory. To be humble and gracious when dealing with people.
