Seth & SunMi Hammontree
Seth and SunMi currently serve as leaders of one of our Mixed Life CGs.
I have been going to church as long as I can remember, but I specifically remember accepting Christ in a third grade worship room where I thought to myself, "If this is what heaven is like, worshipping and having fun with all my friends, then I want to be there." So, when the teacher asked if anyone wanted to accept Jesus, I did! My wife has a bit of a different story as she grew up Buddhist. But after immigrating to the US, she found a church community through middle school friends, and later her entire family became believers in Christ. After returning from living in Korea from 2010 to 2019, we were invited by Abraham and Sunny Park (SunMi's brother-in-law and older sister) to KCPC, and we have been attending ever since. We are blessed to be active in our SOON/CG and the Men's ministry group.
We have been married for 21 years and have 2 children - DanBi (오단비) age 9 and Jibin (오지빈) age 7, who keep us very busy night and day! My hobby at the moment is home brewing a perfect cup of coffee! At the moment, I am working on honing my roasting process, but it is a work in progress! Between taking the kids to all their activities, SunMi enjoys cooking. Although we may be a bit biased, we love her food and do our best to eat and enjoy whatever she cooks up! Our passion is to follow what the Lord has called us to do - to be a witness of His glory and beauty to those God has placed in our lives. Whether non-believers or believers, members of our church or not, or whether we speak the same language or not, we simply want to reflect the glory of the Lord. Our prayer request is that God will continue to be the center of our family and that each and every day He will become greater and we will become less.
